N-rays

A strange hybrid of slow hiphop beats and 70´s berlin school elements... I tried to capture some of the great mood that Peter Baumann created especially in his early solo work. This is of course a much more "crowded" mix, for better or worse. The mellotron flute samples make a comeback, again smile

The gear used: Korg ER-1, Moog Little Phatty, Roland VSM-1 and JV1080 for the backing, the leads and pads by Arp Odyssey and Arp Omni 2 +  mellotron samples (M400, sampled note-for-note)

can't go wrong with mellotron flute, fits perfectly in this context. love the bendy/microtonal stuff going on in the lead line.

I really enjoyed this.  It was indeed a weird hybrid of hip-hop and 70s electronics.  Also the flute really brought the "Shadow of the Beast" video game soundtrack to mind!

Very enjoyable!

Nice.
