Edge of the Infinity

By Ashen Simian on August 18, 2024 7:09 pm

This week something a bit different; this one is 100% old analog synths...the youngest of the set is from 1978! The sequencer stuff is Oberheim Two Voice, the strings are from Elka Rhapsody and the leads and ring modulations from a Minikorg 700s.

A bit ragged and harsh, but definetly not new agey massage music this time smile

magic machines! this just sounds like so much fun to make

I was immediately drawn in by the trippy/spacey sounds that kick the track off.  Parts of the main theme kind of give me a Western vibe.  Space cowboys or something.  The vintage synths sound awesome.

Damn I love this. Wish I had space and money for some analog equipment!

Hi thanks all!  Yes, the analog has the grit-appeal to the max! These old synths are quite hard to maintain, but that is much easier today thank to the net. In the old days you had to find a good tech head to help, otherwise you were out of luck. Nowadays you can find info and spareparts...often expensive, but possible.

Today there´s many good, rather cheap analog synths/modules around, so it is possible to create an analog set up with some luck and perseverance.
