another shot at a hit em track

There's something interesting in this. I don't know if it's the dream genre; in fact I'm quite certain it's the opposite. But it is something space-like.

Hell yeah! 1:20 is so sick! Love the synth trickles. So much activity going on, I feel like I'm falling into a black hole and seeing the quantum world start to unfold. Awesome job!

It's weird how a genre isn't just the component parts. Like this track is in 5/4 time, and 212 beats per minute. The sounds aren't super crunched out, but neither are they soft and sit in the background... yet I agree. It's not the hit ems.

Why is it I can imagine the dream genre, but doing it is difficult. I'm feeling my way through the track and have trouble committing to any genre signifiers.

Going to try ONE more time. And have a little checklist of things, rave, 212 bpm, 5/4, crunched out so I don't miss one.

I like this description, and I know there is a bit of a synth traffic jam at certain parts... I think I could have pushed it further. Like 5x as many so it's just a swirling mass.

Perhaps genres that came up in a dream are best left there. They are, after all, notoriously unreliable sources.

we've taken all we can from the planet and now we must mine dream space. XD

This ol track of mine (2008!), I was having a dream about it and I woke up and made it.
