A New Road

By Ashen Simian on January 4, 2026 8:26 pm

Hello old and new friends! Time for another year´s WB. This year seems to become very busy with life and all that goes with it and I really thought I would pass WB this year because of that. But then, I thought it might just be what I will be needing... something to look forward to admist all the madness (and not just in the geopolitical sense!). I think I will try to keep the stuff true to life and if I am too busy, I just let it show in the music. Let´s see how it goes...

This first one is a simple jam with a mood of expectation; not more, not less. I think it is a fitting start. Moog Slim Phatty as the mid range sequence, Micromoog for the deeper bass, ASM Hydrasynth for the polyphonic sequence, Elka Rhapsody for the real time chords etc. Plus some guitar as a focal point. I really have not aquired new synth gear since the last time, but there´s a few that have not seen the light of day for a while, so they will have theri chance this year, I think...

Welcome back!  I always enjoy hearing your excellent collection of synths at work.  This one has a nice hypnotic quality and gets kind of soothing as the string-like sounds kick in.  Nice usage of the guitar in there as well!  I hadn't read the description yet and I was thinking I heard some guitar in the mix and then the next thing I knew, it kind of took center stage.  Nice way to start off the year.

Oooh I really dig that, awesome work! Can’t wait to hear what you do next.
If life is busy, keep it simple. Maybe noodling around for WB can be your “you” time for self care ^^

Love it! Hypnotizing as Cosmic already said. I really like how the track subtly evolves over time.

i really like the melody, the guitar part and the overall vibe, enjoyed this track a lot, thank you!

Likewise!!!  Thanks for the nice comments and looking forward to listening to your new stuff, as always!

Thanks!  That is a good advice... it is nice to visit the "music planet" once in a while smile

Hi and thanks a lot!  That was just what I was after...I tried to restrain myself until the guitar solo. Let´s see how it goes next week...

Thanks very much! This vibe is familiar to me, but I will try something a bit different too one day smile

Beautiful textures. I love this, especially that high icy string/pad that morphs on the surface of everything. The guitars coming in around 3:10 are also spot on.

Very pretty
