Phoscyon

By As_Yoesual on April 12, 2026 6:09 pm

Phoscyon is an Acid Synth VST and one of my favorite synths to use, This track could be considered a hommage to that synth.

SQF makes a vocal appearance, using the intro of the "Chasing the Beats" podcast from the episode that starred little old me. God, SQF's voice is so rich and manly, if it was fluffy, I would hug that voice.

So, 10-minute track, even though I had no intention of making anything this week because my tinnitus keeps flaring up, but a quiet Saturday evening turned into an all-out four-hour jam sesh.
I spent another three hours today finalizing it, remixing, and remastering the track.
My goal was to make something more mainstream, peak-time-ish, techno-like music, and I'd like to think I accomplished it.

I hope you all are doing fine, keep chasing those beats!
*hugs*

Hell yeah, good stuff man!

This has me in my chair like

Nice jam!

I'd take some amphetamins and dance all night long listening to that on loop. Nice SQF cameo.

Take care!

MDMA was my first choice for the title, but somehow ended up with Phoscyon, hehe.

This made my day!

Haha yesssss!

4hour jam sounds fun. I agree with you, you accomplished the guided sound for your song and it turned out great. Well done on the mix as well.

hell yais Chasing da Beats! \m/ love the shaker shuffle feels and that synth sounds so good and squelchy! Excellent use of Dr. SQF with sweet fills. Such a slick outro with everything filtering out.

oooohhhhhh yeah, here we gooooooo!
SQF voice ftw heart
excellent pacing and builds and BASS

Absolutely. Love that sound and the subtle development, nice shaker in the back. Great energy. Verdict: Banger.

Queued up your Ep of Chasing the Beats. There's gotta be something in there about how you shake out these bangers every week, right??
Btw, Phoscyon seems to have just the right scratchyness in the lower register. Did you highpass it or is this just the sound? Super hypnotic in all the right ways. I should get out again soon.

Aww thanks, I... Just try to find a single or few sounds that inspire me and just take it from there, Not sure I consider them bangers myself, but I do have a lot of fun creating them.
I do some EQ-ing on the Phoscyon, occasionally use a devastor distortion VST to make it feel a bit rougher. Depending on whether another synth already uses the lower frequencies, I either high-pass them a bit or use a trackspacer/soothe to make some space for the lower end of the Phosc.

Ahhh yea, lets go! That acid drips ... acidness. Love it. The SQF pod intro, great idea! This locks in and goes on a nice ride, love how you introduce some elements throughout. Good mix, all seems in right place. Now I wanna go mess with some acid bass.

Some great acid techno, I was confused at the start, did I just accidentally start the podcast?  That shaker is a thing of beauty and lots of nice transitions and changes to keep everything flowing over the 9 minutes.

Ah, yeah - great jam here... definitely a head-bobber.
The stereo imagery throughout is quite nice, keeps moving forward... killer.

This is fucking sick.

Thick, wide and things keep moving. This is the good stuff!
