Iniquity
gross injustice / a wicked act or thing
From: inīquus (“unequal, uneven, unfair; disadvantageous, unfavourable; hostile, unkind; unsuitable; wicked, wrong”)
Photo: Me, about 24 years old, when I experienced iniquity.
(also me while trying to figure out Synplant 2)
Reason for the title: The track felt hostile, unkind, uneven, slightly wrong.
Can't say much about the track itself; it feels somewhat alien, and I think the title I gave it fits.
As always, I put a lot of emphasis on the pan pot (panning/stereo), and since I already finished the track on a Wednesday, I spent another day really pushing the mastering to its loudest without sacrificing depth. I feel like I quite succeeded at it.
The og goal for this track was to properly try SynPlant 2. For those who don't know what that is, it's a VST synth that can turn any sound into a synthesised sound, generate random versions of that sound, and you have near full control over the sound afterwards. (ADSR, LFO, Effects, etc)
It's cool, but using the tool is… unfavourable, weird, and feels really experimental.
I’ve owned Synplant for two+ years now, but never used it in production.
This track uses seven Synplant 2 patches, one Diva Synth, Phoscyon 2 synth, and LØW, a bass-synth that's really cool and different.
Since I own a bleeeepload of VSTs but always fall back to the same ones, I made a list of all the VSTs I own and will try to incorporate some of them every week.

Have a great week, everyone!
