Hahaha Hi!

Voice Sample: Orange Drink!

Me in 2025: I'm going to submit shorter tracks to WB2026.
Also me in 2026: *submits 7.10 minute track*

So yea, def. going to try and keep them shorter and spend more time shaving off imperfections.
That said, this was definitely a "just go with the flow" kind of track.
I think it took me about 7-or-so hours to throw this together, and I could have cut off the last few minutes, or probably remove the first few instead.

As I lost all my samples/projects/tracks from 2023 to December 2025, I also lost my templates, effect groups, and whatnot, which makes me feel like I'm going in blind.

__

Main WB goals this year:
- Keep tracks shorter, I should aim for ~2 to 3 minutes.
- Use/learn plugins I own each week, so I don't fall back on the few dozen I always use.
- Listen to more work produced by others.
- Have fun.

__

Lets make 2026 awesome!
You/We got this!

Ha! love how you used the clip and had the cough as a rhythm element.

This is head bobbing goodness all the way through. I see what you mean about the last two minutes - could have faded out at 4:30 or so, but I also like how it got a second wind and surged ahead again. Good stuff, glad to see you back at WB!

Hell yeah, this is tight!

Really takes off.

Welcome back, hi.

Hi!!

Pump factor 8.6

HIIIIIEEE! This is awesome, really great techno and its right at home at 7+ minutes, there's variation, journeys, little rabbit hole breakdowns and then big energy swings, really great dancey track. Welcome back!

Ok, I'm about two minutes in and I'm dancing in my chair and hoping this lasts for at least another 5mins, hahahaha... So I think you're good on track length! Hahahahaha..
Super fun, really making me bounce in my work chair here.
Welcome back to WB, man!!! If this is how you're kicking things off, then DAMN, am I excited to hear more!
Very fun variety of different sections and variants.
Super nicely done!!!

I just had to come back and comment: I reached the section at 5:30 and IT GOES SO HARD HOLY SHIT!!! Hahahaha...

unironically a banger

Yoooooo the initial build on this track is amazing.  And that higher "lead" type sound that comes in around 1:30, sounds awesome, the processing and movement is so good.  And the Orange Drink sample.... I'm so interested to hear all ways that gets used through out the year...

I love the posting of your goals for the year, I'm stoked to hear about the new plugins you try out through out the year.  Week one in the books 行きましょう!! ( ๑‾̀◡‾́)σ"

It's funny to hear the Orange Drink "Hi" starting this track off so soon after having it drilled into my head by Paisleyfrog's track.  I'll say that shorter is sometimes nice, but I'm also a believer in letting tracks breathe and be what they were meant to be.  You did a good job of taking us through a lot of locales on this journey and it felt shorter than seven minutes to me.  Kept me bouncing in my chair for the whole duration as well.

Well you failed. And glad you did, this is tight and develops nicely all the way through. That quiet vangelis-esque bit at like 2:30 was particularly unexpected while sitting perfectly well with the track. As does the lead in the 6th minute that you build towards. But it's the Vangelis reprise in the 7th minute that ties the track together.

I froze just reading this. I'd be pretty bummed if that happened to me. That sucks, sorry this happened. One silver lining is that going blind didn't impede you at music making at all. Maybe it actually provides a bit of creative freedom? Sure, forced by circumstances, but maybe that's at least a positive way to look at it.

Yeah! Lets goooooo!!

The low end on this track is masterfully mixed. That kick thumps and the bass dances around the low end of the stereo field. Are you into Shpongle? I kind of get that vibe here by the way the music evolves while maintaining familiar elements. Hella good song, my guy.

For some reason I really like the "*cracked knuckles* Okay, I did the things, now, lets open all the valves" approach.
Thanks!

Yooooo! thanks Napear! I'll def. struggle with making tracks shorter, but one day I'll manage!
Yea, I'm sure we'll hear OD's samples more often this year XD
Hmm, maybe I should list the plugins I'm using.
Thanks for the kind comment smile

Hah, I'm sure I'll fail it often, and that's okay, Hopefully when I do pull off a short track, its gonna be something special.
Thanks so much for the kind words, glad you are back for 2026!
And yea, Lost it all, and for a few days I was super bummed, occasionally still am. But there is time, I'll make new stuff smile

Thanks VL! I never heard of Shpongle and have been listening to it while replying to everyone here, and I gotta say, thank you for mentioning them, I totally dig it! What a great find smile

good flow! from silly sample chop to actual track still keeping funny vibe all the way. nice one! good to have you back big_smile

PS I had to clear my throat multiple times during this track dunno why heheh

this track got a hefty bounce to it!

Played this for my partner and told him it changed my life XD

got me boppin along immediately.  Love the interplay between the bass and synth line wigglin in and out.  ooh that first changeup niiiice! especially enjoy the synth patch that does the higher note.  Excellent track full of energy. Also this is def the right amount of time for this track.. it develops and opens up and oof that filter open around 6mins.  \m/

Great mix! Interesting genre, it has an unusual contrast of sounds that surprisingly works!

Woah, that didn't feel like 7 minutes at all!

ayyy!!!! this rules!

2:50:

excellent builds/ momentum/ journey
excited to hear more from you this year, i really enjoyed yr episode of CtB!  heart

Usually people try to make longer tracks instead of shorter! It must be nice to have that problem.
Bopping my head to this track. I remember listening to your appearance on SQF podcast and bopping while running outside. Your tracks are bangers, I hope to hear many more! And don’t feel forced to make them shorter. Also going with the flow is perfect!

Hi - Happy New Year!  Here we go!

I'm pleased this one ended up as my last song to listen to for week 1. I have survived many dead ends and half-hearted efforts. It was a pleasure to come to this polished dancefloor banger as the finale that will bounce me forward into week 2. You have been downloaded. You have been favorited. Maximum respect. Time for a beer.

Awee, thanks Cake! *hugs*

Bringing the club vibe.  I like how there's defined sections through the piece even though it's all tied in together as one flowing piece.

The sampling in this is so impeccable. 😊 “Hi”-step has to be an official thing now. This is such a catchy start to 2026!

raving! i'm glad it lasted as long as it did :3

OH
MY
EVER
LOVING
GOODNESS

HOW DID I MISS THIS?  I'm so honored to be the Amen Break of WB
lol - I'm actually glad that you sparingly used the sample, because PaisleyFrog had me gasping for breath from laughter!

Still hilarious, but then LOVE when the bass cuts at 4min and it gets SERIOUS dance floor style

lol @ LCB "Hi"-step
