Week 10 - Old Vibes

This track was a labor of the nine hells. I got the feel of the 80s (I was born after that time) and went with it. This is the first track where I didn't know where to go, so I spent hours writing sections I never used, until settling on this edition. I practiced using Superior Drummer 3 to try and create acoustic drum sounds that could fit into a mix. They aren't as clear as the EDM kicks I use, so I'm not sure how well the mix turned out in relation to the drums. I enjoyed making this, despite going bald from amount of times I pulled out my hair during the process.

I like how there's an 80's vibe to this, but at the same time it sounds distinctly modern. I find it really interesting you wrote more sections than you ended up using. That sounds a lot like the story writing process for me.

I dig those melodies! the synths you used give for a good blend of 80s and chip. The drums came out great on this end! And I hear ya on having a bunch of sections shelved, I've done this often. Keep them somewhere if you liked them, they might sprout new songs in the future big_smile
