Reminiscing On Yosemite

By Alphaglitch on January 14, 2024 10:28 pm

Started with couple loop samples and then added in synths made in Serum. First time ever using Serum at all and i've got a long way to go to really learn it. Once this track got to the 3 min mark it started to solidify a place in my mind and it took me back to memories of a trip to Yosemite park where I was with a former lover. Hopefully these sounds take you somewhere similar. Thanks all for listening and for last week's comments!!

The panned sounds around 1:45 had me looking around the room to see where they were coming from, ha! I dug the shift around 2:45, cool how this track changes throughout and the different tones set.

Love the direction you take at 3:00, really comes together, so fun! Sounds like a great trip!

Big beat! Really like the use of ambient bird sounds on the intro and mid section. Nice job with that glitchy sounding synth too. I think my favourite part of this track is the percussion, the part that sounds like a one two three click hit that pans and had some echo on?

Rock Solid!! Would love to hear it in a dj set

I love how many interesting elements you’re able to get in here without making a mess.  I particularly like 2:50+ onwards.

However: throughout the entire piece, I was half-aware of the possibility that rhythmic sentient scissors (or stopwatches) might be sneaking up on me

Thanks, glad you noticed the bird sounds in the mid section. I had raised the volume on it cuz it wasn't sticking out enough to me. Nice to know that change worked out. Yes the closed hi-hat was run thru Around the Head auto-pan and to me made this sound a bit hypnotic.

Thanks! Yea 2:50 onwards is my fav part also. You're giving me some ideas for the next track hahaha needs more scissors in it!

I started dancing a little bit automatically listening to this. Super nice!

It's not, but hopefully I'll carry this song to future memories
