Calling of the Void Sea

By alonemusic on January 27, 2026 6:57 am

This week the art is a little delayed as I've been working away since tuesday and I'm so jetlagged that I'm struggling to stay awake. The track was mostly started on last Sunday, then finished off on monday. I was trying to explore more sounds from Absynth and a few ideas around chords and noises. I was happy to add the sort of 80s style guitar too that holds stuff together.

Update! I finished some artwork. I was looking through scans of old japanese Psx manuals and.. well.. thought when not replicate that big_smile

whoa this is gorgeous

That guitar is vaguely robertsmithian but the rest of the music goes its own way. As often with your tracks, it's a slow burn, but when it opens up fully it pays off entirely. A wonderful build, but not for the TikTok attention spans, haha.

Ear candy galore here, too. Little delicious sonic details throughout. I like that.

Nitpick: isn't the snare during the finale like super back in the mix? I'd hit that thing harder.

This takes us on quite a journey.  Parts of it are quite epic and cinematic.  Nice work.

Nice vibes, very chill and inviting, love this

Love this, great atmosphere and progression, I particularly like when the synths opens at 3:28 such a good mix of ideas, great art too!

really engrossing and theraputic, thank you

Absolutely love those guitars.

I'm a sucker for big 80s reverbed guitars, and yea, no pandering to the TikTok generation for me big_smile
I honestly forgot there was a snare in the mix, the drums were all in an orchestra plugin, so just got buried in there!

My pleasure, I've wanted to do more relaxed music for a while, maybe this is my slowcore era...
