Clearance Need

Another quickly made-piece, a very simple two-part composition: a mellow half with clean guitar, bass, strings & percussion then a quite metal response with your usual riffs and distortion. An exploration of a very oriental-sounding scale. As process, I first started with the distorted part, figuring a riff then complementing it with melody and drums. Then I added the clean part, with the Korg Wavestate giving the atmosphere and sort of deriving the melodic theme out of the distorted part (even if in the track they are reversed). Afterwards I played the bass over both parts.

a veritable orient express smile

I love this start. I wonder this second distortion part playing together in the first calm part, if it sounds good? Maybe strange tongue Nice guitar playing!

This reminded me of the jazz guitar of Gabor Szabo until it got heavy and dramatic. Cool.

The problems with two-fers is that they sometimes clash, you made them mesh really well and they're both great. One mysterious, the other harsh resolution.
