Erosion

I put this together in the hours leading up to the deadline - haven't had much time or motivation for this. I felt like doing a 6/8 song.

I really like the direction my music goes when I limit myself the way I have done in recent weeks. I have sampled my bass guitar and my own drum beat once again. I realise I really enjoy creating new beats from my own recorded ones. I made the chord progression by cutting together a very limited set of chords I recorded, and trying to get them to fit. The synths tie them more solidly, and the result is quite an epic sound.

I visited a beach today which had some awesome patterns in the rocks, hence the title.

Great sounds. It all comes together really nicely. Nice touch on the alternate reverb panning on the snare. Gives the drums nice motion.

Thanks! Glad you noticed the reverb panning I was happy with that smile

Love it, from the tight drums to the mellow synth sounds. The rotating snare reverb is indeed a nice touch.

Incidentally, this song has a great build-up

Oh, the reverb trick is a nice one! And the whole vibe of the song is really chill. Pretty relaxing with lots of sparkles on top.

The feeling of rebuilding a beat from fragments is one of the most rewarding things in music making, IMHO. It's like making everything alive from ashes smile
