Banal Canal

Walked by lots of canals and rivers this weekend, and got some recordings too.
Felt a bit uncertain of what to do today, so this happened. I won a woodwind instrument plugin a while ago so I used that as an instrument, and some Tamuz breakbeats. The pure saw wave was speaking to me a lot today, and I've been messing about with Vital - pretty happy with this bass sound I got to.

The chord progression is a boring/predictable one but I made it have weird timings and added 2 unusual chords as an extension of it to make it feel more like a puzzle to figure out.

Enjoying making yet another proper weekly beat and not sacrificing it for work!

When the up-beat drums kicks in this is very pushing forward, moving. Don't know why it reminds me of MOBY music.

very nice.

I totally get what you're saying! Listening back today, it reminds me a lot of early Prodigy. The flute and drums really remind me of 'Weather Experience', which was an absolute favourite of mine growing up. Glad you like it, thanks for your comment!

super nice love when the bass drone comes in at 1:37

I love the way this one builds and morphs

This is cool.

Love how it sounds like its in 10/4 time then 14/4 or something like that, but is really in 4/4 with a weird kink in the middle of the phrase (I think?) It adds a lot.

Good textures all round.

Something about this feels very comfortable.

The mellow intro points in a different direction. I wasn't expecting an uptempo track, yet I dug those "rare groove" era grooves quite a lot.

Beautiful harmonies... and quite a funny title smile
