Endless Shore, Avalonia

By 2haf on February 16, 2020 11:54 pm

Pursuing my new career as an electric guitarist. Squashed this one to heck, but at least I've figured out how to render without 30s of silence at the end. Made with the my new hip songwriting technique.

Good shit like always. The melodies are strong in this one!

Love those piano stairs 3/4ths in <3_<3

Totally agree about that melody, this one's got a real sweet sound.

Nice one! Love the guitar and the hip songwriting technique. wink

"I'll be waiting on the beach..." I really love the piano!

You always have this epic sound going on... Great work!

As Guen said, you have such an epic sound. Everything melds perfectly into this great flow.

The tones in this track are so refined and crisp, just wonderful! Top notch melody comp as always!

I'm really pretty envious of your production techniques. Your mixes sound so crisp and clear.

All you d'n'b guys really master the balance between different instruments so well.

And, as usual, the melodies are really impressive. Wishing it was longer...

^ Agreed!
Top notch piano and production!

Piano is very cool indeed. Very well done. smile

Cheers boys, I actually came up with the main melody for this about 3 months ago and tried to expand it twice before and during wb without any luck. Third times the charm!

Thanks, I randomly stumbled across the guitar in XPand and it seemed to fit. Who knows if it'll ever make another showing lol

Thanks! I've been really enjoying trying to write as cinematic as possible this year. I'll probably calm down a bit once this group of tunes (? album ?) is over.

Thanks guys! I got a bit of good luck with the drum programming this week, the layers just turned out much easier to mix than usual. Wish that happened all the time! Thanks a lot for tuning in heart

Another great track, really loved the hlf time groove in this one. Also really appreciate the effort you put into developng/varying the drum patterns, they always build so elegantly.

Agreed - awesome production, melodies and arrangement as usual. Whoa, just heard those piano runs, wow, nice chops. I can picture the endless shores ....

Beautiful piano melodies.  Makes me feel like I'm visiting another world.  And then those huge drums kick in and take it to another level.

Oh yes, that guitar part is really fantastic.

Love the rapid fire piano sounds.  Great melody! Really pulls you in. Also like the frenetic feel of the drums. Great work as always! I do miss the 30 second silence solos smile I've done the same at the end of many tracks.

The melodies are fantastic! The drums hit hard and really drive it forward. Nice!

Out of curiosity, what are you using for keys? The always sound so clean and pretty. I want to change how I approach melodies cause its so nice in your mids/highs. Keep up the good work!

Thanks a lot! I usually try and come up with new variations every 4, 8 and 16 bars, it's extremely fun to do in drum & bass tunes smile

Thank you! This is a very outdoorsy tune, I'm glad I got the energy across!

Thank you! FL has a lot of strange tics that I'm STILL not fully across. I still love it to bits though heart

Thanks! I use Pianoteq 6 Stage 95% of the time. It has about 5 really good sampled pianos that I bounce between depending on how the mix sounds. It's quite good, has a lot of settings and isn't too expensive, but it also has a tendency to get very resonant when put under reverb and compression, so watch out for that. It has a free version I think (?) if you wanna try it out!
