Soundcheck

By 0F on January 9, 2024 2:51 am

I had an idea to write a song to be used during soundcheck, so the other songs in my set don't get spoiled/revealed to the other performers/bystanders. It's petty, I know, but it actually ended up being a good way to test a couple of things in one song. I may extend it to include some other guitar tones, and the vocoder preset I sometimes use.

Also, just for the record, I think the one minute minimum is unfair. I predict that many of my songs this year will be very short, and there's no reason why a song under a minute long can't be legitimate.

Lyrics:

I’m gonna do a sound check tonight
And hope my mix is alright
I’m gonna set my gear up right
Before they hit the lights

Now autotune
Is it loud and clean?
Program all the notes
So I don’t have to sing

I’m gonna do a sound check tonight
And hope my mix is alright
I’m gonna set my gear up right
Before they hit the lights

hahah so heavy love it big_smile

This was so good live last night.  I could actually hear all the lyrics perfect - drums are totally on point!

quick n dirty! vocals are excellent. short tracks are legit but I wouldn't mind another 2 mins of this. great job!

\m/, O \m/,

i would pay full price for a 15-minute The Soundchecks show

hahah this is amazing

i didn't even know there was a one minute rule. but a+ track

This sound check is so good, try not to make it better than the rest of your set. Maybe add some specific ranges to it as well, make sure the highs are high and the lows are coming through alright.
Also, I don't think anyone really checks on that minute thing, it's a soft rule. Check out k.key from last time.
