like any good Arkansan, I grew up on the banjo. spent many a night listening to my dad play it in the living room. love to hear it.
the sound selection for the whole track is insane in the best way. the longer it goes it's like we crossfade from meatspace to cyberspace. and one of the best accomplishments here is that I think the overall piece keeps moving enough that the repetition of the individual elements is never boring.
it's great.
Thanks jbarket. This comment means a lot - the evolving repetition keeping interest was exactly what I was trying to accomplish and glad it seemed to work for at least one other person
I was entranced for the first two minutes before realizing how long it is. The banjo figure is very nice. The layers keep coming in and it's easy to enjoy the new voices that appear, tho it's just a little bit overwhelming. Love the gliding tones at 4:30ish. Love how you kill the banjo later on without making it clear if we drowned in the echo or what happened. But suddenly it's the shrill synth and delay that took control. V cool track which showcases how to lean into a groove and stick to it until it becomes something new. Thx for sharing!
A magical experience and a very long haul. Well worth the journey.
