LSDJ!

Game Boy!

Early this week I had no idea what to do, but decided to start a tune anyway. I figured I'd punch in kick drums at random in a phrase, and do the same for the noise hats. I then matched noise to the kicks I wanted to be snares, and built the bass line around the kicks. Quite a bit of the melodic stuff was done at random timings (and semi-random notes/octaves) as well, though adjusted to match when needed.

New approach, was fun to do.

And an amazing result to boot, think you'll do it again?

I love this! Very insipiring tune. Any good tutorials for LSDJ?

Thank you! I think I might try similar something, but maybe do 32 steps next time and see how that goes.

As for tutorials, I seem to remember the manual was well written in the way that you can follow it beginning to end and learn by trying out everything as you go (even the simplest stuff, just to get it in the fingers). Then you could look up specifics on Youtube for tips and tricks later, and to hear how other people achieve their sound etc.
