Weeklybeats is a 52 week long music project in which artists compose and publicly release 1 song a week for the entire year.

this is purely an in-the-box tune, chowkick,khz one,ymck 8-bit,korg triton and chipsounds. you're right, i was having a load of mixing issues, i was drowning it in verb (deelay and some valhalla stuff) and couldn't reign it in. i'm not used to using verbs anymore

soumds like your kick and bass are competing for the same frequencies. maybe high pass the bass a bit?
yes, reverb can muddy a mix like no other! judicious use on certain freq bands helps, along with sidechain ducking the verb wet/dry so that it leaves the attack un-effected and comes up on the tail end of the sound.
