magpie beehive synth -> mixer for stereoing -> chase bliss lossy -> m8

a fairly minimal groove i made today.  only plan going in was i wanted to plumb the beehive (42-oscillator drone synth) through the lossy (shitty mp3 compression in a pedal).  because what does mp3 compression like more than 42 square waves?

so just twiddling that live for a couple minutes.

really cool textures.  honestly kinda wish i had recorded continuously the whole time; definitely didn't get some of the best moments of unquantized knob twiddling.

maybe someday i'll be brave enough to try something actually ambient.

Had to look up what the Beehive was! Really great textures paired with a good beat. Thank you!

This is SO groovy, I love this so much. The beat feels perfect. These really weird organic sounds, like metallic insects in their cocoons. Really sick stuff

I really enjoy the low bass throughout this. Super funky, with just the right amount of stank.

Damn, that beat/sub bass is fucking pumping. I love the mix of laid back and relentless drive. The little beat trips every phrase are great. Would be a great Sunday morning festival acid trip track

I am absolutely on board with more groovy semi-ambient if you care to make more.

Just bubbling under the surface. Really neat beat.

This should be in the soundtrack for N++.

The title alone is worth several awards. I don’t know what they are or where they give them out, but they’re yours for sure.

I don’t know if you ever listened to any of the Back to Mine mixes. Basically what people would play after a night out. Danny Tenaglias is super rad, but lots of good ones.

Anyway, this struck me as belonging to that kind of vibe. We went out, we raged, now we’re in a half finished basement still going.

Absolutely in love with it

Whatever it was, it was very bubbly.
