what the fuck did this turn into lmao

LSDJ again, single-day-marathon weeklybeating again.

I wanted to try for an atmospheric, moody d&b sort of track, inspired by some WB track from a recent week that I can't recall anymore.  (this is not what i ended up with..)

Started with the noise channel for the main groove, and built a hectic (but not aggressive) bass around it.  (ended up using it later in the middle section of the track here).
Then I remembered something I tried out ages ago (pre-WB) on LSDJ: hand-drawn waveforms where the shapes are a steady bass tone, plus a pulse wave overtone.  (e.g. start with a square wave, then bump up every 4th step in the waveform for the 8th harmonic.  bump up steps 0,6,11,16,22,27 for a mostly 6th-overtone sound).

I wanted to step thru overtones in the sequence, but in the limited time I spent drawing the waves, it was too harsh for steady notes, so I made a staccato sequence from it.  Throwing out the atmospheric vibe, and going fully in-your-face.

My favorite part is where all hell breaks loose and the bassline does a fairly random pattern, instead of the steady E1.  That plus the wailing, flying lead, chaos.

If I had a bit more time, I would:

* Expand the intro
* Flesh out the end more.  I like the vibe, but it was super rushed; i barely knew what I was laying down.
* Finetune the hand-drawn waveforms.  Single-"pixel" adjustments really make an audible difference to the sounds here.

The "shoes in the dryer" type drumming on a fucking GB is achievement unlocked (really love the relentlessness / asymmetry here).

Highlights: drop around the twentieth second, the subtle soft lowwwww bas around 2:00 and that absolute victory of an ending.

It turned into a banger, I'd say. These are some nice sounds that maybe could use a bit of tempering.

Years of hearing mediocre lsdj tracks makes you appreciate the interesting sounds you produce here. Nice track, cool viz
