Realized towards the end of this week that I'd never finish the original weeklybeats song I envisioned so instead I threw this lil weird number together at the last minute while I get my other idea(s) sorted.

The guttural screaming/yelling you hear is some random super saiyan yelling sample i ripped off youtube a few years ago when I had an op1 - back then a friend was playing through the dragon ball z: kakarot game so I inevitably found myself sampling from the cutscenes often. I ended up actually submitting a song with one of them for a chiptunes4autism release a few volumes back under my synthwave project name: the service club. at the time I wasn't releasing music under kaibuster or anything else so I just went with that. Been working on an album since 2016 with one of my best friends for that project - hopefully will be done by next year. gotta get those sax takes just right - more on that another time.

PO12 and PO24 made it onto this one along with some random sampled hi hats from I forget where and a random triple saw bass straight from the m8. The bass is pulled off with a series of CUT commands on every bass note triggered along with some RES commands (filter res). I'd be happy to drop the song file on the discord if anyone ever wanted to check it out - pretty sure I replicated the technique from another song I heard way back but dont remember which. I also purposely buried some op1 tape rewind scratches towards the end of the track that I recorded a few days before selling my unit.

Some fun PO/m8 facts: You can alternate the pitch of the PO samples just as you would on the physical unit simply by adding in a pitch command in an fx column. Also the m8 reverb added way more depth to the po24 than I thought possible, definitely want to try running them through more effects soon. I run each of my PO samples on FILE: 01 and then scroll to C1, C#1, etc to access each slice of the PO. When you alternate the pitch it displays the correct note you're playing on the keyboard on the lower righthand side of the screen.

until next time thanks for all the feedback so far ! (thanks again for the late link p. j. harmonic)

Maybe if the gutteral screaming was stronger it'd feel better? It's background right now, which is fine, but it'll be better perhaps as a main track.

completely agree, when the remaining weeklybeats weeks are finished im planning to go back and do some adjustments/mixing to tracks that could use some extra tlc - thanks for the feedback!

Took longer to read the notes than listen to the track! wink As always thanks for the m8 tips/tricks. I'm not on twitter or anywhere, so I will always read these notes.  The screams gave a haunted vibe.

I like that acid bass! I had to listen a few times to hear the scream - I liked the concept, was curious to hear more of it. smile
