I have new toys!

I purchased an Analogue Pocket a while ago and it was delivered last week. I had been eyeing it for a while, but the final push to actually buy it was watching some of Disposable Planet's videos here on weekly beats. I basically wanted to give LSDJ a try.

Well, in the meantime, ESS also released FMS, so after the Analogue Pocket was delivered last week, I decided to give that a try as well. And, oh boy, am I hooked.

So, after a week, I think I've got a hang of most of the basic features of FMS. I was playing around with a techno-ish track today and after creating some variations I thought to just record a little jam.

I recorded into Ableton Live and only used a utility device and a limiter to increase the levels. Other than that, I just wanted to maintain the raw FMS output, including its glorious noise floor.

Hey, the result ain't brilliant, but I still think it is pretty cool. It also is a nice break from all the Tidal Cycles stuff I've been doing the last weeks.

It also made me think I should try making a tune in OPL Studio one of these weeks.

that really short initial pluck with the delays is tremendously satisfying—LSDJ try sounds like a success!

Cool stuff, love the elastic and bouncy FM!

Sounds like FMS hooked you good, nice one!
Excited to hear more FM stuff from you if you ever return to OPL studio.

i can hear the fun u were having, so good! love the panned out percussive elements and the staccato synths jumping around on top
