I don't have a lot to say about this one. Not bad, but it doesn't particularly inspire me. I feel like I came up with a cool synth riff and some chords but couldn't create a song out of it. Tried experimenting with different drum samples rather than preset kits but those really didn't hit the mark for me. Had a difficult time balancing the bass and it's probably due to it being so synth-forward. If I cut away the low end on the synths then the lower melodies felt weak, but it also didn't feel like it had enough balls to really fatten things up either. Eh. Try not to get down on myself for these kind of songs but it sucks going like 3 weeks and I haven't felt that excitement for writing. On the other hand, I have been having fun in general playing more keys. Feel like I'm getting a little better each day.

I thought the drum sounds were good. I dig the sauced up big drum sound. Could have used a little more hi-hat to tie the rhythm together. I liked the guitar noodling at the end, thought it sounded nice. Cool synth tones too.

I really like the big reverb on the snare. nice clean guitars tones.

don't sweat it, just keep moving forward!  oops i have to leave more later

hi i'm back

the breakdown is great at the end.  that could be a whole other type of slow jam / jazzy track.

Keep up at it! I really liked the solo you got there. The melodies are interesting and this is an awesome clean tone!

It's got a cold synthy sound that's appealing.  It may be that you trimmed back some of the low-end. Good interplay between the synth melodies and drums.

I actually like this one quite a bit - the beat's groovy and the synths are solid. big_smile

But I can definitely empathize with feeling less than excited about WB output for weeks at a time. It's funny how the best and toughest part of WeeklyBeats is that it just keeps going and it goes quickly. You never know, though - sometimes the stuff you think of as a failed experiment could be just what somebody else needs to hear.

I look forward to your stuff a lot for that reason. You've got solid chops and really neat ways of structuring your songs. Keep up the great work!

It definitely feels like the upper register can do a little more than just harmonize with the lower, maybe give it a few melodies to play?

I love all the sounds in here. The ending minute is particularly strong.
