Groove Cacoon

Procrastinated until today to even work on my song. I've been learning a ton of McBaise songs and kind of figuring out some of his stylistic flourishes in his bass lines, so I figured I really should try to put some of that knowledge into practice at this point. Mix could be a lot better, there may even be some clipping (don't have time to check on another stereo system). Generally happy with the overall output though. Oh, I also used Synth1 for all the synths here again.

btw did anyone watch that Creator Clash event yesterday?

Sweet synths. I like the way it goes wwhammp whaammp. The bass sounds groovy indeed, I like the tone a lot. I love that part around 2:40 when those synth chord stabs come in. The bass gets extra grooving' at that point. The syncopated rhythms at the end are super tasty. Nice job!

Ooh, groovy! Beautiful arps, and props for the synth timbres you settled on (and the bass too!).

Is the intro in 9? It sounds weird as fuck, and hard to count because of the way it dances around as it loops over. In a good way big_smile. In my mind I imagined KG&LW sounding drums on it. Seems like it a bit of that Catching Smoke vibe. Nice work.

I like the diversity you bring in your tracks! From death metal to prog to now a Japanese anime soundtrack territory. The bass sound and lines are really tasty. The synth highlights are really nice, they bring a magical quality. And then you bring the prog back at the end - the bass becomes really groovy. Nice track!

delicious spectral clarity!

Really digging that groove, especially the bits like around 1:04

Unique track, the opening is a trip with that pan-flute sounding synth, delightful, bass takes it elsewhere, and I love how subtly it transforms the track towards a much more rock-sounding ending. On subsequent listens I hear the arps and chords still working their magic, but the first time I heard it the bass thoroughly dominated my attention in the ending. Excellent playing, very neat track.

shredding that bass dude
WOOF that drop at 1:04 is sick
what is this mystical time signature in the main riff?

I'm going to use my phone-a-friend and call Blighter's.

Dude, I think it's 9.

I'm going to agree with him and say 9, final answer.
