I watched the gif the whole song. Hell yeah!

I think you've definitely done a good job emulating that sound. I don't know why, but I find old school jungle sounds to be pretty hard to put together. you need a lot of layering to really make it come together, and you've more than accomplished that.

and once again, guitar go brrrrr. it's a joy.

the switch up around 2:20 is great too. really unexpected, and I love the line. in the same way the guitar took over, this really takes things in another direction again. we were rocking hard, now we're floating along jamming. I think our star power ran out, haha.

Wow this is awesome! I was hooked as soon as that four on the floor bass drum kicked in! Was not expecting this type of song this week! It's so awesome how it gets a little quiet for a bit and then comes in with the rock guitar. I really like this combination of heavy electronic dance music with metal guitar solos. Your lead work in this song is really really good! I'm really impressed that this is your first attempt at this kind of music. Sounds like you are a pro at it already! This was really fun track!

The kick pattern before the "rock" section begins is a such a nice transition. Seconding what saguaro said about the lead work. Great job. You pulled out some choice soaring notes and held them in a way that I think was quite tasteful.

And as usual, you went to the point where I would have stopped and said "let's add a whole new section here". Nice one!

How did you make this? Is it part programmed part live guitar?

Also, I think the world needs more songs where the lyrics are only... Dreamcast go brr.
Maybe we can get the entire WB community to agree for week 08.

you made me bob my head for 3:33. Fun stuff like the whole transitions.

nailed it i say!  dig the glassy textures

Are you ready!

Yep...

Love the electric guitars there it works super nice. The all synths parts are well put together as well.

I enjoyed this a lot more than I expected to. haha. It still felt like a party, even with some really unorthodox chord progressions and bass lines. It transitioned to several different chapters really seamlessly, not feeling disjointed at all. I have no idea how to make that type of track. lol

The electronics transition into the guitars seamlessly.  This sounds like a fun party to be at.

One of my favorites from week 7! Nicely done 👍

Oooh dang when the bass kicks in I wanted to jump up and flicker the on/off switch on the lights in beat.  The chords are def giving me those extreme sports ps1 game vibes.  The middle transition is extra sweet.  From the pads that lead into it to those thick chorded synths.  Hail yais!

Whoa - way to hit the dance floor this week VirdianLoom! Seriously cool work here. The beat, the grunge, and the gif all work together so well. big_smile

Love puke.  Digging the scales/mode/riffs in this too but too tired to analyze. Excellent vibe overall though.

That's a different vibe form your usual tracks and I hope it was a fun little expedition into other areas of your creativity. I like the light and fun atmosphere of this track. The guitar riff from 1:10 is really cool, and works very well in this context.

cool to hear this combination of genres and it all really comes together for me at 2:15, totally reminds me of some dreamcast shoot ‘em up soundtracks – nice work!

Aww yis, sweet guitar.
- Spider

This is awesome! Totally reminds me of Dynasty Warriors, I loved that music

You know, that duck has been partying for seven weeks straight now.
Like, non-stop.
Guess this track really does go hard. big_smile

Sorry I forgot to respond to this. I think this process is maybe semi-interesting so I wanted to give you the deets.

It is a live guitar. A clean but effects laden guitar starts at like 30 seconds before the distorted guitars come in at like the minute mark. What I did on this song for that distorted rhythm guitar is that I adjusted the playback rate in reaper to play the song back at a slightly slower, manageable tempo that I could chug to. Given the type of track it is, the only way the rhythm guitar would sound good is if it were robotic and mechanical by being tightly locked to the grid. But I don't even chop and quantize my guitar riffs, so I figured just playing slower and more deliberate and then speeding it up would get the same effect, which I think it did? The sped up guitar sounds robotic and unnatural in a pleasing way I think.

I also ran the whole rhythm guitar signal with its amp settings and everything through ReaPitch and pitched it down an octave, as if I were playing an 8 string guitar.

All the other guitars playing lead stuff are unaffected though. If I do any other songs like this again in the future I'll probably use the same technique again unless I can dial in a Zantilla-esqe synth sound that sounds like a djent guitar.

Super neat. I just heard about the Fender Bass 6 for the first time thanks to Ben Levin. Are you familiar with that thing?
