Deep Sea Pathways

By ViridianLoom on February 13, 2022 11:13 pm

Tried keeping it simple this week, figured I'd try to make a videogame-esque loop. Some of the transitions need work. I tried looking at the chord progressions and using theory to figure out how to piece things together but I'm not quite there yet.

I've been trying to teach myself to actually play piano/keys in a performative sense and I think I've been getting a bit better at it. So that's cool. Most of the stuff in this song is stuff I can actually play without painting in chords on the midi editor or quantizing away my poor rhythm.

It's interesting reading how the weekly beats practice pushes us to learn new things, in your case about chord progression and also piano. smile
I really like the high piano that comes in around 0:30. This track has a very crystal like feel, but you also add some good organic bass and then drums that ground it as well. Tasty chords in there as well, indeed jazz like! Cool layering of melodies. Cool break at 2:50!

I enjoyed this track a lot.

It's funny how I say I kept it simple this week and by that I mean I used two major chords. You say I kept it simple this week and it uses crazy jazz chords and theory that I can't begin to comprehend.

My favorite moment of the song is the transition right around 1:45-1:50, and the part right after. The bass fills are great, and the whole song really comes alive there for me.

I like the title. It does seem watery, doesn't it?

I really like the bass tone, and agreed with blighters_rock that your simple is not the same simple as mine... lol.

Congrats on improving on the keys, I'd love to get decent at this, but I can't find the motivation, time to put enough efforts into this yet.

I quite like the "light" ambiance on this one.

A beautiful build up with such extraordinary chordprogressions. It`s a wonderful song, compliment.

Nice work! Very pretty and shimmery. big_smile

I'd use it.

whoops, sorry i'm late to your week 6 sad

lol and +1 to all the comments about "simple"

I really love your music.  I love when you get metal and heavy and love when you get piano and "underwater"

*donkey kong underwater gif i can't find at the moment goes here*

Underwater music is always the best music and this fits the bill! heart (Regret that I'm so late, I also wanted to make jokes about "kept it simple" bit...)
