Witching Hour

Original artwork by brasskeleton, poorly edited by me.

So this track started out as an attempt to make a more "final" version of my 2016 Weeklybeat "Rise Against".
I started this around 6 months ago but in the end I created a Rob Zombie styled metal track that kind of breaks free from being just another re-hash of an older project, this came about largely because of being inspired by Brasskeleton's Halloween sketch that ended up becoming tweaked into cover art.
To qualify for Weeklybeats 2018 and to bump this out of "WIP" status I have recorded the bass parts, added some new drum fills and patterns, added some CC0 voice samples and had some fun trying to demonize them with Infected Mushroom's "Manipulator" plug-in and a few reverse reverb tricks and here is the result!

Fun fact: This is the first full length tune I tracked on the 8-String during the WeeklyBeats break.

So. Much. Chug.

It's so intense. That could very well be the Infected Mushroom manipulator.

Haha thanks man! I only used Manipulator on the voice samples, everything else is Reason / the 8-String / Superior Drummer smile

I guess you're just that good. Of course now I'd want to know what it's like on the other things.

This is creepy, I literally just wrote "witching hour" in an email I was writing as this track came on.

nice artwork!

really enjoy the bell sound during the verse

I could really hear Rob's voice over this track, and the spooky voice is reminiscent of many of his film samples.  Dang dude, I really need to listen to Astro Creep now....
