Displaced

Started off yesterday as an experiment on M8 to use tables to provide different time signature sequences. A note in phrase is just a "start trigger", and the note sequence itself is in the table using RET commands and note offsets. There is some 5/4 and 7/8 going on in this track, as well as switching between straight and triplet grooves giving it a sense of off kilter / misaligned patterns.

Made with M8 Tracker, with a recorded synth line from OB-6.

so good when the beat kicks in!  The groove switching works really well to create a subtle unsettled feeling without it being overpowering at all

god, what a mind fuck, i love it
super cool how the syncopation(?) feels

really good - melting my brain

the funky time signatures sound sick

Groovy!

Super neat grooves here, man! Nice work smile

This tune made drinking my morning coffee like a really dramatic moment.
Sounds awesome as always smile

WHOA. Great track, really unsettling effect to change rhythms this way. Nice phrases and sounds. Any randomness in the melodies or all composed?

This is what trap music *SHOULD* be. The polymetric and polyrhythmic potential is all there! The OB-6 sounds great as well!

the switches from straight to triplets are sooo cool

The sounds are lovely, but particularly admire the formal choice to push exploration of a single progression throughout. Taking notes on the arpeggio speedup in the beginning and the "stutters", particularly in the later half of the first minute. heart

Wow this is fantastic. Love how it shifts just before the 1:00 mark!

awesome idea and great performance. Like this very much.

That bass with a variable rhythm makes the track very interesting, it really changes the dynamic, as it pulls and pushes the track. Great melodies for the rest also, I love these high melodies.

bomba!

WHOA the slow downs feel realllllly good.  nice title smile  love it when you take the brakes off at 1:47

love that sentiment of evolving trap into this!
