Seething Animosity

By Tone Matrix on February 13, 2022 2:43 pm

I was trying to learn the notes to a meditation track I've been listening to lately.  Of course I hit the wrong notes and found this instead. "Let's paint some happy lil accidents?"  I tried to play this live as best as I could.  I managed to get the full track recorded in one take but there were some whoopee cushions and parts that needed velocity editing.  I really think the keybed on my Roland is getting less responsive.  (Sure blame the keyboard, Eric)... "Who said that!?" *looks around*

Really nice vibe on this one.  Chilled out, contemplative, and melancholy all at once.

You need to find an acoustic piano so you won't have any excuses now... smile

I really love "simple" chords on a nice sounding piano. It sounds comforting. Which piano vst are you using? It is very pleasant, quite dark and mellow.

I think this would work great paired with strong images on a cinematic scene.

This was really enjoyable

This is very nice. I really like the piano lines and especially the section from 1:50. It is both pretty and dark. Nice dynamics and build up beyond the minute 5:00. This is great.

this is really nice and goes in a heavy direction which i enjoy, it feels wise

feeling emotionally touched by this beautiful piece of music. Thanks

Very warm and inviting

Its really cool to hear you doing these super simple, but powerful pieces lately.  I definitlety love your huge epic ones, but its cool to hear how much you can do just with piano too.  Love when you start rolling the chords at 5:00, really changes up the whole dynamic.

So good, becomes meditative and then you get the change in pace, love how much you do with the piano alone

music!

Love the dark nature of this... your meditation took an unexpected turn!  Love the progression and the way the middle part becomes brighter and lively. Gosh, I really need to start ripping off... um, I mean, incorporating some influences from your work. Maybe by accident, I would recreate the original meditation track smile Beautiful song well played.

I like happy accidents like this. Really like the mood of this one, too; contemplative and calming.

Back listening to this again. It's so nice. Sad, somber, but trudging on. Love it.

Lovely feel to this one and I like how the harmony gets pushed slightly later in the track.

YIKES I missed this week's track???  So embarrassing.  AND you answered my question: roland rd700gx - double facepalm, my b

wow, this track title is amazing, combined with the restraint of the piece.  you are such a good storyteller.  I don't really know what that means, but I always infer so much from your work.

It feels like the aftermath of a big argument, and then in the middle, we "flash back" to the actual argument, then at the end the people reunite but it's unsure if it is positive or not.  music swells and stops abruptly *cut to black*  gentle notes play at the very end *directed by ToneMatrix*

i hope you are doing okay, personally.

naughty keyboard - beautiful piece!

I love your descriptions, made me smile. This title, I thought it may be super intense song, it's just right. Great playing, you showed the keyboard who the maestro here is. Whoopee cusions, lol. I think the best stuff can come from those happy lil accidents! I'm drifting away in this now

I saw an article a while back that solo piano music was like the most streamed, or high up there at least ... that was interesting to me, hearing this made me remember that.
