Insignificance

By Tone Matrix on August 3, 2014 11:58 pm

No time to type! Computer hates me and decided to turn into a slug with 1 minute left!  *will edit later*

*moments later*
oh duh, i can edit the submission here, I seriously have deadline issues.  It's been maybe a month or two since I had a track done a few hours before deadline and not right on the dot.  I'm not exactly sure why I freak out so much when its upload time.  Maybe it's the idea of knowing I will have to take up Phil Harmonic's time smile  (thank you Mr. Harmonic, thats a jab at me not you!)  *sets alarm for next week*

I officially need to invest in more ram.  I finished the track with 15mins left but my computer ran out of breath.  I was able to upload thankfully (with ONE min left) but as you can see I typed too fast!  The title I guess is a bit ironic.  Hence this track is called "Insignifance". Yay!

Hahaha Be a nice guy and type everything JUST AFTER THE DEADLINE IS FINISHED. That's how I manage to make it this week, after Firefox got stuck for about 90 precious seconds.

Really enjoying this one. Calm and mellow, but with lots of subtle things happening in the background. Less synth-based (in a Blade Runner way, I mean) than your previous weeks, it sounds fresh.

Nicely done, man. This one goes straigh to my playlist

duhhhh thanks for the reminder, haha wow, i seriously have no brain power left when I run these tracks right up to deadline. So the mp3 is misspelled but this isn't now.  Next week's track will be a four letter word to avoid such typos tongue  and thanks for listening, this was going to be a super calm track but then I added way more (plug-ins, fx) than I probably should have.  (hence the computer turning into slush and moaning in slo-mo "nooooooooo"

This song is giving me the feels. Pretty great stuff! Maybe you should try starting your next track right after you finish your last... at least that's what I keep telling myself. Really digging that stereo phasing bell pad!

Tobias!
Thanks, yeah I really need to try to start early, these Sunday 10hr marathons are draining and then I can't get myself to start the next day since i'm so worn out from staring at the computer.  But hopefully soon I shall stop the procrastinating! smile

The (acoustic?) drums are fabulous. Very gentle song. The many tiny details like the underlying noise (on th the kick?) brings this to live. I always admire your strong melodic approaches. This is a skill i would kill to get a slice of smile

Feels all around! Great atmosphere and very pretty

This is seriously nice, chill and illustrative.

Beautiful track, with a wonderful relaxed feel. Lots of nice details in the background sounds.
(It's so much easier said than done to start early in the week, not leaving the bulk of the work until Sunday, but the few times I've managed it, it really feels good.)

It has a little bit different feel than some of your other stuff, but it's still quite nice.  I liked when it got a bit louder right around the middle.

I make a conscious effort to try get my stuff up by Thursday at the latest.  I think I'd have a panic attack if I got to Sunday without having finished the song.  That said I have mad respect for a lot of the "last minute" compositions I've heard on here.  If I ever did get to Sunday without having started a song I'm sure something immensely half-assed would get posted.  Like more half-assed than usual smile

really nice job. dark, but optimistic.

this is kind of sad and hypnotic song, but towards the end there's a glimpse of hope:)
and nice sounds!

oh my gawd it's getting better with every measure. great work man!
