In Case I Don't See Ya

By Tone Matrix on August 9, 2024 2:59 pm

a noodle i finished a bit early in the week since my sister and nephews were visiting this week.  This was part of a lil noodle jam where I sometimes get ahead of myself if I play too loud/aggressive/fastish.  So this was the least sloppy bit of what I smeared on the piano.  Thank you for listening.  I hope you have a good week ahead! heart
ps. artwork from my fishing day, i like big hats and i cannot lie.

This is really pretty. Such expressiveness in your playing.
I love that artwork, I feel like a dullard appreciating art, but the reds are an excellent choice with that splash of bluey green to soften and contrast is beautiful.

I listened 3 times trying to find the words for the feeling that this invoked.  It's like your about to embark on a new journey that is exciting but a part of your heart is breaking for what you are leaving behind.  To my ear anyway, it is a lovely piece.

I love the contrast of the speed and energy, and yet it spends so much time in minor…it carries that feel of yearning or regret with the energy and excitement. This piece has layers to it. Beautiful, thank you.

Just lovely. I wrote a lot of dorky sounding words just now that didn't do this justice. It feels like a complete moment and mood with clear intention and an emotional idea that you imbued into your not-at-all-sloppy noodling. Do you revisit themes or motifs in your noodling? Come back to ideas again and again? This sounded like visiting an old friend and catching up.

i love that thought. ^
or maybe even catching up with some visiting family members  smile
hope yr time with family was good and that you have been able to catch up on rest.
thank you for your lovely music. honestly at this point, listening to you play is like catching up with a friend - for me.

actually, it isn't "like catching up with a friend"
it IS catching up with a friend.
i'm working on being more precise with language. thanks again, Wizard  heart

This has a great energy to it and a really pretty chord progression.  It combines a sense of wonder and wistfulness in a fantastic way.

Quite pretty! Hope you and your family had a wonderful time. big_smile

Great smears on the keys. such a beautiful feeling you created. There is a joyful anticipation in the air. Love the track. And I like the picture of Gandalf the grey in orange.

I really need the video slideshow of you fishing & visiting with family members with this music!!!!

"A Day In The ToneMatrix"

Feels calm and joyful, probably like fishing! Loved the feeling at 2:29, I was totally "in it" and the feeling of space/breath was a welcome surprise. The ending was so delicate and tender.

I really like this... it feels like it begs for lyrics and a vocal... it has like strong Coldplay type energy to it... and I can hear a vocal melody on over it... very inspiring work.

THat was quite a fantastic track. I need to revisit it several times, and ideally not while working, but instead while walking in nature. The energy of the track is what struck me the most at this point. Even though it does have the melancholic tone shared with many of your tracks, this one has a different energy and was captivating from the first note in. Favoriting this track. Maybe my favorite of the year so far.

Really like the varying rhythms in this and the bright build starting around 1:30 that expresses hope. The change up around 2:33 into a softer, more contemplative outro evokes a feeling of revelation and arrival at some deeper meaning or truth.  Beautifully played.

This track is full of lasting memories and times gone by. A carousel of dreams.

A most stunning noodle. Could be the soundtrack to a a major motion picture. Or just the beauty of life... passing by. I'm no expert but your playing sounded great to my ears big_smile

Not sure why but I was anticipating a slower tempo to the music, pleasant surprise with the pace of this, always appreciate how your music brings up memories.  Enjoy the week and time with the family.

This is lovely. Such a fan of your piano noodles. For the first quarter second or so my brain went to "Oh, it's a play on The Office theme song". And them immediately noticed that this is much prettier and more full of emotion. Super super pretty. Please keep noodling on like this.

this is a jolly romp of a track
and indeed wizards wear big hats on adventures

sometimes i forget to reply and sometimes i'm just a d00f but yes you totally nailed it.  I def do revisit themes and chord progressions.  Mostly cuz they look like shapes to me.  So on days where I'm just trying to play faster than usual it tends to revisit the old progressions.  Love this comment and it made me smile seeing everyone elses reaction.  Thank you for listening and your kind words smile
