Every Tunnel Ends With Light

By Tone Matrix on January 12, 2020 10:28 pm

I didn't exactly procrastinate but I'm wishing I had another day or two to fine tune the mix for this week's track.  Main inspiration came from Mac Quayle's track during Mr. Robot's S04E09 hotel scene.  The original hasn't been released by him yet,  so I tried my best to emulate the bassline from that scene.  If you're a fan of the show it was when Darlene is outside the Cipriani hotel.  This was a bit outside my comfort zone (which is normally quiet ambient stuff).  Personally, it's so much easier to make a 'pretty' melodic track than an action sorta suspenseful track. *shrugs*  The mix could probably be EQed better but overall I'm happy with the pace of it.  I was so excited to finish this track today I barely slept 3 hours the night before.  Course now I'm struggling to upload in my state of delirium.  I was so out of it, I exported the final track with the drums soloed. DERP!   Thanks for listening!

That bassline is running away with it around the 3/5th point. Goes really well with the piano.

Yeah I can totally hear this soundtracking a suspenseful action scene.  I've gotten behind on Mr. Robot, but it is a good show.  I need to catch up.  smile

I need to catch up on this season, but I hope it sounds this good!

Hypnotic and that bassline is phat!

Absolutely lovin' that bassline, as well as that retrowavey feel, it's always a good fit for tense action type songs.

Very well done. I really like how you make space between "sections" of the track. It starts very strong with the bass in your face, I was drown to the tune. smile

Never seen the actual show, though the track is highly cinematic. Diggin' that arpeggiated bass. Downloaded

S04 already? I have to catch up Just saw the first two episodes....

This track is a banger!
It has definitly the power and the darkness to make it in to the sountrack!

Haven't watched the show yet, so this is giving me Metroid Prime vibes instead. Amazing feeling of suspense throughout!

You're killing it with these soundtrack vibes. I said it last week and I'll say it again because you're seriously doing amazing work: if I heard this in a soundtrack for something my ears would perk up and I'd get obsessed.

So good!

Perfect vibe!

very suspenseful!
