Detachment

My head wasn't in it this week.  I totally stalled working on anything new until Saturday night.  This is one of those "put something up so the streak continues" tracks.  I know I know, I'm not selling it with this description but it's the truth.  Hopefully next week I'm a bit more creative.  Thanks for listening.

I like what you did with the percussion there. Very subtle especially at the start, bringing some texture against the pads. Good luck for next week and getting creativity back!

It's hard to keep your head totally in the game for 52 consecutive weeks, but I think it's kind of interesting sometimes to see what people come up with in their "off" weeks.  I can see that this one doesn't reach some of the epic heights of your other tracks, but it's a nice listen in its own right.  Certainly nothing to be ashamed about.  Maybe a little more low-key, but still solid.

I think the "keep the streak going" tracks have a subtle importance. I try to make my short story writing a daily habit, too; just 1 hour each day. The point is never to make that 1 hour super high quality stuff though, it's just to show up. I think weekly beats is similar.

Rant aside, I really enjoyed this track, which might indicate there's an audience for your less creative stuff, too. smile

I like the synth behind the rhythm and piano. It reminds me of a sequential circuits sixtrack I used to play with, many years ago. I like this track, sometimes "B-side" tracks are pretty genius, too.

We all have those periods. Its in those periods where we are searching for our next step to drive us forward. Sometimes we have to ruminate on our current situation, in life or music or what VST/sample pack we're going to buy next, before we can take a step. The downs are just as important as the ups.

For the track, this down still has your style and flare. I like the pensive piano you use. It sounds less like the underwater piano I'm used to.

Hey man, the pianos are nice and their contrast with the drums is very interesting. Maybe you can use this to reevaluate how much work is truly necessary.

Must have been one of those weeks, I also really struggled this last week.  I think you still got a nice result here, feeling the scurrying percussion and gentle piano, soothing stuff.

I know those weeks. This has a great feel and lovely melody that comes along right when it's needed.
