The Impulse - October Sun

Yet another stream-of-consciousness sound collage track. I started this one after listening to a few Oneohtrix Point Never and Flying Lotus tracks. This one started as some as some synth pads, then I started playing my Moog Subphatty for bass and leads on top, then it evolved from there with lots of samples. Tons of sample chopping, pitch-shifting, manipulating, and tweaking. It's super fun to create and let the whole composition and vibe evolve into something different from where it started.

* Moog Sub-phatty for synth, bass synth, leads
* Ableton bass synths and Wavetable for more synths and bass
* Drum, percussion, pads, sax, trumpet, vocal, texture, etc. samples from Splice
* Ableton Simpler for drum sample chopping
* Valhalla, Transit plugins (and more)
* Gullfoss and Ozone for mastering

Total Time: 6.5 hours

I love how this morphs and winds its way through an epic audio landscape! It sounds nice and HUGE and manages to cover a lot of emotional ground in just 4 minutes!

Thank you! Yeah, it evolves quite a bit! Arguably it could be to separate tracks back to back, but I did love creating the thick, big synths with the horns towards the climactic end, it still gives me chills when I listen to it, haha.
