Nuclear Cedars #5-7

By Tomatron.Jones on May 26, 2024 9:33 pm

Just like last week, I recorded a few rough demo ideas for my band 'Atomic Pines' (check us out on Spotify!). The name 'Nuclear Cedars' is a play on the band name. There are 3 parts, mostly centered around some quickly recorded guitar riffs and bass riffs, then synth bass added, set to a few drum samples from Splice. We are a 3 piece so keeping only 3 tracks (guitar, drums, bass / synth bass) was key. Then a bit of automation and mixing. Adding a bit production trickery kinda like how Petey does. This was actually a lot of fun and kinda knocked out 2 birds with 1 stone - band demos and Weekly Beat!

* Gibson SG Guitar + generic P-Bass, using Guitar Rig 6 for amps / FX
* Ableton Bass synths for synth bass
* Drum samples from Splice
* Automation of FX, mostly Baby Audio Transit
* Gullfoss and Ozone for mastering

Total Time: 5.5 hours

love the demos! #1 has a fun jumpy cadence to it, #2 is has a great upbeat energy with a great melody #3 nooooice backwards elements. The bass and melody really go great together
