Bass and Synth Thing

By Tomatron.Jones on January 4, 2026 9:34 am

Weekly beats snuck up on me this year, I only had 3 days to work on this. Took a couple of quick little bass recording jams I made while practicing for recording bass to the band then arranged them together. I actually didn't finish any tracks last year, busy with work and band. I'm looking forward to getting back in the groove with weekly beats.

* Drum, guitar and some synth pad / arp samples from Splice
* Generic P-Bass recorded through Focusrite Scarlett 4i4
* State Machine Bit Flip synth plugin
* Transit, Valhalla, RC-20 plugins
* Gullfoss and Ozone Elements 10 for mastering

I had to rush this one a little, took me a bit to get back in the groove.
Total Time: ~5.5 hours

Oh man, this is a mood. Love the groove in this. And that break in the middle to that singing synth lead. Great stuff!

great intro

nice drums and switch between drum sounds. actually most ear catching was the drums for me. but when i read and relistened for bass I can def appreciate it. how it gives meaning to the harmonies by the wobble synths and melodies. nice. bass is an incredible instrument

This kind of reminds me of some Anamanaguchi stuff! Upbeat, synthy and just plain fun!

yo I relistened after many other tracks and I have to say the bass is really cool, and I was looking forward to it cause i recognized it. sick tone and well played!

I don't really know what to say except that I had to leave a comment when the song came up to say that I like it a lot! Then I read you had to rush it a little and now I am even more impressed.

A strong start to the year! Everything in this track comes together perfectly!

I love both these things, I also love the drums and the guitar.

Thanks! I did the weekly beats 2 years ago and it really helped teach me how to move fast!

Thanks! That synth melody was the last part to come in, I was worried it was a little out of place but it is fun!

Thank you! The drums are 'mostly' Splice samples, I didn't do too much messing with them but I did some choppy stuff and FX automation on them.

Thank you! I have seen them live before and I do love their rock-synth-chiptunes sounds.

I love a bass and synth thing!
