run with me

By Tom Foolery on January 6, 2024 11:15 am

I run into the new year with a head full of thoughts, too many to explain in this short description.
I feel like the future is open in front of me and I am eager to charge head first and explore the options.
Have I already started?

Monomachine track that I decided to add rough quick-written vocals to in the Zoom H4 multitrack (hence the very rough mixing).
Honestly, really pleasantly surprised with this one, and I'm getting more comfortable with hearing my own voice, imperfections and all.

they're saying he's the new james blake

like most ppl I generally hate my voice when i hear it but this one i like

there's a interstitial and stream-of-consciousneses quality to this track that i dig very much.  more!

for real, he is

ohhhh i love this woz, love the layers of tape hiss and the plonky snare thing. love the atmosphere when the thin arpy synth opens up! wonderful little track mate

comfy

feels polished and complete, love the vocals, looking forward to more!

I just might. Nice comfy vibe.

This is very pleasant. I like how you arranged the song and how it slowly builds on the synth part.

If you add a spacious reverb to your voice, especially when you start the "won't you run ah, with me" part, it would be nice touch. I wonder mind messing with the vocals and synth if your up for it.

This makes me think of cartoon characters (like adventure time style), walking to the end of a sunset in the show's outro.

Thank you! Yeah honestly, would love to do some proper vocal processing on these takes, some compression, EQ, verb would really help but my PC is not up to the task rn so rough sketches on the zoom multitrack are what I'm doing for now!

Woah.  How did I miss this?  Really well put together.  Super dry vox hard panned is super brave too - it works so well.  Great to hear you doing this!  And that snare thats not a snare.... vibe.
