Oases

By Tom Foolery on April 5, 2026 11:54 pm

I am submitting this in the dying minutes of the deadline (9 minutes to go as I type this).
Last week was extremely busy starting the new job, and I managed to get away for the Easter weekend (a very lovely getaway) which has meant I have had no time to write anything, and sadly no time to go through and listen to people's submissions!!!
Hoping to make some time this week to get a chance to catch up on the tracks I've missed, so many I'm excited to hear.
And thank you, thank you, thank you, to everyone who is still leaving nice comments, it is so lovely to see heart

hope the mew job is off to a good start, cheers!

Man, you really are a great lyricist - even your track descriptions pack awesome lines like “dying minutes of the deadline.” Your tracks have been a real treat this year Tom Foolery!

The loud distorted guitars sound great on this.  The quieter moments are fantastic, too.  Love that texture on the guitar in the quiet part.

you had me at sludge heart love when your vocals come in and how the guitar sounds so anthemic \m/ The loud to quiet contrast is awesome.  m0ar plz! smile excellent work!

Thank youuuu! I wish I'd had time to give this track more too.
Also, thank you, the new job is going very well! Everyone is so welcoming, and I'm really enjoying getting stuck into the work!
An unexpected upside is the new route to work. Whether it's on the train into the city, watching everyone dressed up to go to work, or riding along the bike paths next to the river, it's always an interesting journey!

You are far too kind! This comment made me smile a big wide grin. I am absolutely flattered, and determined to stick to my songwriting after a few weeks feeling time-poor. Thank you for listening heart

Thank you! Listening back, I really like that loud section, and how it washes around. I'll have to try and refine that a bit I think.
Thanks very much for listening! heart
