If you could read minds

By Tom Foolery on June 7, 2026 4:51 am

Another rushed weeklybeat! Written and recorded in less than an hour yesterday in CGDGCC tuning with a capo.

I plan to come back and update this description tomorrow morning but just uploading now in case!!
I am also so keen to come back and listen to the last two weeks of submissions, I'm just struggling for the time, but I'm really keen to hear what everyone has been up to! Thank you everyone who has been listening to mine and leaving comments heart

if you could read minds
and you could read mine
you might as well be
looking in a mirror

your eyes
they burn
my skin
in turn
I look for you in every face

your touch
is still
to much
to feel
it marks me like a bruise

and when I sleep well
I think you can tell
though you're not near me
you live in my dreams

A lovely sound throughout especially with the deep soothing delay on your vocals.

Agreed with tone matrix, the ping pong delays on vocals works great.

beautiful little song! you made this in an hour and now you and we have it forever! how cool is that!!!???

I like that you milked the 3 chords more by changing from strumming to picking on the same figures more or less

Lovely - this is some serious SpeedTreasure! Great chord voicings from that tuning, and the switch from strum to picking is really effective. Plus, the by now standard "I love your lyrics" smile

"i love your voice"

also i'm a sucker for a good "ah-oooooh"   smile

I wish I could write songs like you! You're amazing at it, and this song just proves that

Love the sound of the guitar on this.  Solid song especially considering the rushed conditions.

Dig the vocalizations near the end!

Thank you Tone Matrix!! heart I am an absolute sucker for the echo plugin, I think I've used it on every track this year...

Thank you, that is very kind Paisleyfrog!! I wish I had allowed for more time on it, but I'm proud that it came together so quickly! And you're too kind about my lyrics, thank you thank you!

Thank you Joshua! Having been a reluctant singer for a very long time, this complement means a lot to me! heart
Also the ah-ooooh is an underrated vocal technique and I think it's due for a major comeback in 2026

bbro!! That is very kind thank you heart I have to say, I really wasn't much of a songwriter before this year, and just practicing every week has made a big improvement I think. I think you've written some wonderful songs this year too, and you write like you!! I look forward to hearing what you write in the future.
