Fenris' House

By Tom Foolery on January 26, 2020 1:25 am

Last night, after a party, we were planning on going to an Acid House night, but then thought instead we would go to a breakcore show. Either way, we had to stop via Fen's house so he could get some new clothes. Instead, what happened was I found the old Yamaha SU700 that Alex had gifted him, yet he had never used.

The SU700 is not by any means a machine that is easy to use. It's interface is very clunky, and the workflow very different from most things I have used. Of course, I became obsessed with trying to defeat it.

I have borrowed this SU700 off of Fenris. This morning, I spent perhaps 3 hours loading in samples that refused to load, and having to reboot the whole thing and losing everything. I eventually came up with this beat. I feel like I have conquered it somewhat.

All the sounds are sampled from nanoloop mono.

I actually had thought about recording some vocals and doing something with that this week, perhaps I will do it next week.

I'm certain the new sounds will be incredible. With the capabilities available from this incredible piece of Yamaha hardware, it can't be anything but great!
