Disasters, naturally

Well, this has been the first week of the year that I have forgotten to allocate enough time for weeklybeats! This is a very last minute idea that I have put together, but I am pleasantly surprised with how it turned out! The lyrics ran out of steam and the vocals had to be recorded very quietly given the time of night but otherwise, not bad. Another guitar idea in Oyster Bay tuning (DGDABD), and some excessive post-production.
A good week? I think so! Lots of pleasant surprises and keeping busy. Thinking back, I can hardly believe that everything that happened has been this week! A nice social run through the city with friends, found out my washing machine cannot be repaired, watched Marty Supreme in the cinema with other friends, celebrated a 30th, got a haircut, sweltered in the heat, got inspired by Talking Heads all over again, watched my tomatoes ripen, ate a mango, nearly finished reading a whole book, rode my bike. The only thing I didn't get around to was going to the beach!!! Oh, and maybe doing my weeklybeat.
I look for fault lines on your skin
I can feel you trembling
you are an earthquake
there's fire beneath my skin
ashes and embers within
no place to build a home here
you sit there as I burn down
I watch you crumble in a mound
disasters naturally
there's water rushing in
I don't think we'll ever win
