49 Weekly Beats 2024 Holding On

By thgirwnhoj on December 8, 2024 8:59 pm

For a number of weeks now, I have been doing fast-paced, upbeat songs in odd time using chopped samples. I started another one of those tracks for this week, but I could not get inspired. I pivoted to a new project and just started layering ambient loops that I played out using presets. Before I knew it, I had something that I liked and decided to stick with it. It is a simple buildup of layers and I tried to add some movement by automating the pan settings.

Thank you so much for the listen and the kind words! I really appreciate it!

Agree 100%, very pretty! Still a driving beat to it, just as an experiment I wonder what it would sound like if you took away those more rhythmic parts? & thanks

Thank you so much! Yeah, I agree it would be interesting to take out the pulsating sounds and let the softer parts just float along. I also thought about going the opposite direction and building up into a full on driving beat. Either way, the piece makes me think about the layers I create in tracks and how I determine when I need more and when I need less. Thanks again!

This one is very sweet
