12 Weekly Beats 2024 Buckle Up

I tend to have success composing with a very simple MIDI keyboard. I have this M-Audio KeyRig 49 that I bought well over ten years ago at a Best Buy when the one near me had a pro audio section. I have put it on my shelf before multiple times and yet it somehow keeps making it back onto my desk. This week, I used it to program the main beat first. The drums and percussion in this track continue to be my favorite part. I am going to wonder what this track could have been had I spent more time with a beat that I really liked. But I have to remind myself that one of the things this track could have been is ... nothing! Just another unfinished project and not necessarily some great piece built on a beat that I liked at first. Anyway, after I had the beat in a shape that I wanted, I moved to the bass. I came up with two variations that I liked and then decided to build out an A and a B part of the song based on those two bass parts. I added the stabs, pad, arp and even two lead parts, but I took the lead parts out in the end. They sounded nice, but I think I was just adding them for the sake of having a lead and I don't think the track needs one.

Very nice work. I like the deepness.
