These Walls are a Farce

By theghostservant on January 29, 2012 6:08 pm

I wanted to have vocals for this, but I worked 40+ hours this week (weak).
still using nl mobile/garageband. Lyrics:

You go to feel comfortable,
to be a better person,
but as soon as you leave,
you either make yourself an island
no one can reach,
or, like a chameleon,
you shift your appearance for whoever surrounds you,

and you don't see a problem,

cause you sling "Hallelujahs!"
like a pro, and no one ever knows,
not even you,
that absolutely nothing penetrates
your heart of jaded stone.
You make a mockery of the Church.

These walls are a farce.

But it doesn't have to be this way.
You made it this way.

were you going to scream these vocals?

'cause this got a little grindcore going on, screaming it would sound so good I think

Agreed with VBO.  It's a shame you couldn't do more with this in time; it really does sound unfinished sad

the music is pretty much done. a vox'd version is gonna be on the EP I'm finishing up

rad percussion.  Something almost sounds like a typewriter buried in there. Really neat textures.

Thanks a lot, roboctopus! smile the more I dig into nl mobile, the more I find instruments I enjoy (like the almost turntable-like scratching... too cool imho ^_^)
I'm not sure what sounds like a typewriter? there's no samples or anything going on

Really enjoyed this, lyrics seem to go well with it (well in my head while I was reading them over the instrumental). Looking forward to more.
