Robotic raindance

By laguna on January 29, 2012 6:05 pm

I layered some rhythms using The Control Centre's Darongo loops as a starting point, and initially wanted to do an all acoustic track, but due to extreme time constrains, I ended messing with some harmonizers... just like robots do when dancing in the rain!

Thanks to Darren Guy for creating his own personal percusive instrument and sharing his work.

This is a fun, energetic piece. Really really cool sounds!

This is really cool.  The percussion is amazing and I love the way the harmonics pile on.

I love harmonizers. I can spend hours just running things through Reaktor Resochord.

really interesting is the harmonizer a vst or built into your daw?

haha this came up on the player right after seagull chainsaw's track. a great pairing! Great idea to harmonize drums. Love this track!

Thank you all for the good feedback!

@ Drumurboy: My harmonizer is Ableton Live's built in Resonator, starting from the "Los Angeles" preset and twisting frequencies, filter modes and basic resonators (it has a maximum of 7) on and off.

I would love to improve my comprehension of this effect, and use it in a more musical/vocal way, like those "vocal harmonizers" for guitarrists... any tips?

Simple and effective use of yr resonator. Nice track
