2022-28

This track is a result of sampling some of my favourite Rhodes (or Wurlie) sounds into my MPC1000, and then improvising on the pads. It took me a few tries to get a more structured track, because I kept getting carried away just playing it.

I wonder, which epiano it is, but it sounds fantastic. maybe the MPC gives it the right sound.

that sounds like fun: to finger-drum samples of pitched-tones. really worked well here, feels like you've found a less traditional way to traverse tonality(keeps this suspenseful feel: while i sense the root, it isn't so dominant, and creates a more floaty/wandering emotive feel).

I sampled this from a Roland XV5080, the Amped Wurlie preset. Before the sounds get to the MPC it goes through some Ableton Live effects as well, but I think the MPC does add it's final touch too! smile

It's really fun, because by finger drumming the method of play is more rhythmic-oriented and so you end up discovering totally different ways to play it. Sort of like playing a vibraphone if you have ever had the chance.

Very pleasing
