Worked on this in little chunks every day throughout this week. I'm really happy with what it evolved into! This might be the most samples I've ever used in a song. I probably spent the most time on the climax, trying to get it to sound full but not too messy. I still think it could be better, but I'm content with it.

In other life news, I'm feeling really proud of my students lately. There has been great discussion in the group critiques and their sculpture projects are looking so good! I've been grateful I get to spend a good amount of time in the studio as well working on my own projects. Been getting to music when I have bits of free time, and it's feeling like a nice routine.

Composed on the M8, lots of help from the SP404, mastered in Logic with some fx.

Those glitchy sounds and effects in the opening... Just... How???

The whole song sounds and feels so... Lush!!!! I think that might be the best description of your style: lush lofi chill beats with heaps of glitchy vocals. And this is another awesome example of that style.

Damn, that climax at 2:05 is so friggin' good.... As always, aweosme job with the vocal chops. I mean, I'm super envious of your skill in using samples in general, you've got a really special touch.

Glad to hear you're filling your creative well in all areas and finding balance to continue to bring us these amazing tastefully glitched out, chopped AF tunes. That climax is 🤘, not too busy at all. Nice touch with the ride cymbal as well.

I like those chopped vocals!

There is a cool moving groove there. Well played.

you are so good - like the chopping and mix is so skillful, but it's also so MUSICAL.
why am i not surprised you are teaching sculpture?? your approach to music feels very much like sculpture.
cheers!

I'm sure this'll appease the gods.
Very chaotic energy, sometimes calm, sometimes not.

wow this is huge! really nice.

Wonderfully nostalgic/hopeful! I also made a glitchy track this week but you went for a way subtler vibe, and those e-piano sines are just beautiful against the chopped vocals. Wonderful!
