What a year it's been!!! I can't say enough about how much WeeklyBeats has evolved my practice and process. I've really surprised myself with some of the work I've been able to accomplish given the weekly deadlines. It's forced me to finish things and just let them go rather than fixate and try to make everything perfect. I've loved listening to people's songs, and the variety of music has been truly inspiring and the community is so wholesome.

I'm really proud of this last track of the year, I think it's my favorite song I've ever made. I actually maxed out the phrases on the M8, which I've never done before and feels like a big achievement. I'm looking forward to the off-year, but am also going to miss the sense of urgency of weekly deadlines (I know I can put that on myself, but it's different when there's a whole community of people in the same boat). I'm hopeful about my musical journey, feels like I've come a long way since the days when I made chiptune music on LSDJ. I think I've always struggled with the type of music I want to make and what sort of genre or category it fits into, but this year has been a heavy process of trying to find my own creative musical spirit, and it feels like I'm finally finding my footing. It may be a phase, and my tastes will probably change and evolve and time goes on, but at least now I have a lot of tools under my belt to help me along the way.

Thanks to everyone for uploading wonderful music, sharing your life experiences, and doing your part to make this hub feel like a genuine third place of creative oasis. I'm absolutely floored with a lot of the songs I've listened to, and I hope we can all still keep in touch in some way and continue to share things with each other.

Dude, you should ABSOLUTELY be profoundly proud of this creation, holy cheesus on a stick, this is SO DAMN GOOD!
The vocal work, The dynamics of the sounds, EVERYTHING, it's just absurd how incredible this sounds. I'm in awe, seriously.

As a side note I find it fascinating to hear that you've struggled with genre. To me I can feel such a strong that_ranjit thread throughout all of your songs I've heard. Your style is so absolutely unique and recognizable, it's really impressive.

Okay, enough of me gushing, hahahaha... Thank só much for being an immense part of this fantastic collective, my dude. Wishing you the best for this new incoming year!

Huuuuuuuge

Holy shit. I would have played this out back in the long long ago, but it’s definitely a hold for the real shit kind of track. Like oh you think it’s time to chill at the after, but wait until the intensity picks up here. We’re boogying

Blown away by the chops. So many varied way to tear up samples in here, and everything sounds so cohesive.

This is sick. Album worthy. One of my favorites

The  bossa nova guitar, percussions, and the samples are really blending smoothly. This feels like a festival, the climax of this year in music. The sample choice is *chef kiss*. I also like how you ramp up the energy from 3:10 with the beat, and how it builds up and up. Beautiful peaceful conclusion, you landed this beautiful plane of a track on a nice beach. What a way to close 2024. I wish you the best for 2025 and hope to see you again in 2026!

another absolutely solid track in your unique style. congratulations on your growth and seeing it through. this year I've been super inspired by your production level. well done and all the best with your music!

Fuck dude, this is really good. Really was not expecting that thumping bassline at 3:20. It seems like it should not work, but it really does.

> I think I've always struggled with the type of music I want to make and what sort of genre or category it fits into

I've always thought music on the edge/between genres is the most interesting. Lately, I've come to understand creativity as the process of combining disparate ideas in unusual ways, with taste. I REALLY think you're nailing that here. There's no way I could put this in a genre.

Also, shiitt, your mix is tight AF. I have so many questions. How are you using the gear? Recording everything in to the m8, and then arranging? And how are you processing the samples, especially the vox with reverb - is that through the kp3+? Do you modify the mix in Logic, or just master a mixed render?

Damn thanks so much for the kind words man! As far as process goes, everything eventually ends up recorded and arranged on the M8. The SP404 has been an awesome tool to help me dial in certain samples just right, then I sample from the 404 to the M8 for sequencing. Some of the reverb for the vocals is just the M8 reverb, being really particular about which notes should exist in that space, how much wet reverb to give, and when to kill the wetness. For some of the transitions, the KP3 shines--I love using the pumping reverb, it's able to bring everything together like scooping up a handful of sand and then tossing it up in the wind. So for for audio routing, I have the M8 going into KP3, and KP3 going into SP404 (then 404 into mixer > monitors). If I need fx from the KP3, I will start recording on the 404, then play the M8 and use the KP3. After capturing the audio on the 404, I can then sample that back into the M8. It can feel a little convoluted but it gets the job done.
For mastering, I export individual stems from the M8 into Logic and polish up the sound, but it's very minimal. I try to get everything to sound how I want it to on the M8 first so I don't have to fuss around too much in Logic.

This is so tight! Everything sounds so clean and punchy, but without disrupting that irresistably  chill vibe you've got going. What a cool end of year track!

(Oh man, I just got to the stuttery rhythm at the 3:00 mark and it's totally my jam!) big_smile

Wow, that second half - it kicks things up to a new energy level and the track only gets catchier! Seriously cool stuff.

That's a proper long-ass track. What a way to end the year on a high note!

Love me some latin jazz beats. The combo of that with your signature chopped vocals is perfection. You achieved such proficiency with M8, it's great to see it used for music this far from the typical LSDJ chiptune-adjacent electronica.

And yeah, 3:20 in we're moving into a New Year's Eve party. You packed a lot into this track. It does sound like it's a celebration of your year on WB. Man, we did it! WB24 is over.

The master is spotless. Perfect loudness, perfect brightness, fantastic bass response. Deep sub. The gentle outro is a perfect fadeout for this track, and the year in general. Kudos!

more then just head bobbing in my chair, lol this IS a super track you made!

This is a super chill track to round out the year - sailing off into the sunset after a successful year, then quickly turning back to party with everyone. Really cool sample work - I do some vocal sampling and shopping on my M8, but would love to try something closer to this. The whole track flows so well together, great work!

Congrats on a successful year!

you are incredibly talented and it has been so cool to experience your music this year! i really feel like you have carved out a unique path with you work, and you are definitely going out STRONG here.
i hope to hear more from you in the future, take care!

A fun, joyous track that sounds stellar from a production standpoint.  It was a perfect one to listen to on New Year's Eve as it nails the celebratory vibe while also taking the listener on quite a journey.

Jeeez how do you even make something like this, I looove all the vocal samples and how the bossa nova shifts and morphs throughout into more of a club/edm vibe without feeling like a complete departure. The production and polish are insane. Feels like a proper sendoff for the end of this WB, congrats!

super cool track. love the transition at the middle - went from chillout room to the dancefloor. vocal chops on point as usual. your output this year was really amazing!

Great song. Always love some latin jazz vibes, and this great how it builds and transitions to a big ending that had me moving. I have always loved your vocal sampling and chopping, really good on this one too. Such clean mix and master too, as usual.
Was interesting to read your process above. Sounds like some work .. but something that works.
I'm glad I heard your music this year, you have great skill and style, I'm impressed!
Congrats on WB year, have a great 2025!

I really enjoy how you're using the vocal samples.

This is the perfect song for a summertime beachparty. Such a smooth latin groove with excellent variations of rhythmic genres. The vocal chops are beautiful too. So much is going on. A very impressive composition.  Awesome track 52. All my best wishes for 2025 to you.

Chill groove and immediately loving those laid back bossa nova strums.  Drums and percussion so tight with intricate fills oh yais!  Impossible not to nod along, especially around the 2:30 mark and then those lil gates!  So many sweet changeups and uplifting feels throughout this head nodder! Happy New Year! Have an awesome 2025! Hope to see you in '26!  +1 wave outro

Here I thought this would be a relaxed listen and then 3:20 happened. That was so cool!

Have a nice 2025 and see you next year smile
