alien glass

Composed on the Dirtywave M8. I like all the changes that happen throughout this one. Had fun with various samples, including some sounds I picked up while playing TOTK and Wild Rift. Sampled the radio with my OP-1 at one point, and recorded layers of my own vocals. It started feeling really high energy, so I kinda just went crazy towards the end. Still tryna figure out how to balance everything properly. Would also like to start improving song structure. I enjoy the process of seeing where things go, making things progressive. But I wanna try getting better at crafting structure, I think my intros and outros can feel a little lazy at times. Anyways, stuff for the future.

Always impressed with all the details jammed into one song!

First w04 listen. Amazing.

quality structuring, so many rare-gem moments(those sexy pads everywhere!), succinct production style, much respect smile

It's un(i.e. not)real. Wow amazing. Super bopping to it, and loved the acoustic elements along with glitchy elements. Reminds me of a Choreograph by Gilligan Moss. Super unique and fun! Thanks for giving my track a listen so I could follow back to give a listen.

This like a full EP in one track. Lemmonjelly vibes. So much ear candy and polish. What a ride.

I love those pitched vox samples! Lots of cool layering. This has such a happy chaotic vibe.

i love whatever is happening from 1:20, such a delight. the vocal chopping and samples throughout is really sick and gets my head bobbing. love the 3:30 sample too! This track is really confident and well mixed too. it is clear you had fun making this. 4:20 another wonderful progression. You could have probably gotten several weeks of tracks out of this and i love how they are all in this one. very luxurious. favorited!

hella good again!  the layering is the perfect amount and everything sounds clear and clean.  the breaks part in the last quarter is fire

woah, energy is off the charts! nodding the whole way. amazing (vocal) chops!

Ooh like the way this meanders and flow. I like that EQ shift at 4:20, creates a nice change, those chopped sounds after also work hella cool.

Your rhythm decisions are consistently amazing, and the sample juggling sounds so spontaneous, it’s hard to believe this is tracked heart

But my favorite thing about this track is all the development it goes through—not a single stale bar in seven minutes.  5:43 smashes in like crazy taxi energy—at the time it happens, it feels like that section intends to develop more along that energetic vector before pivoting away again, but the transitions are so satisfying that it doesn’t really matter by the time the track is over.

amazing sample work!

Oh this is great. Fun wiggling all over. Dig the samples chops, and the interplay of sample voice and synth is lovely. Nice minimal bass under the busier top stuff. I like how it progresses, and your works words about letting it progress. Structure has a place, but an unstructured progressing journey is equally good maybe? Wow, it just keeps going in and changing, nice!

Crazy track, the sample work is too good! It's a journey but it's interesting all the way! I like that we're back to the little pad vamp at 2:00 before starting new sample shenanigans

Lol yeah it meanders around quite a bit. I love the Lemonjelly comparison!

thanks, i like your description of "happy chaotic". like a tangled optimism, or foggy joy. sort of overwhelming.

appreciate it very much! still tryna work on proper balancing and mixing. sometimes I feel like the simpler the better and i need to dial things back, but i get so caught up in all these sounds it's hard to have restraint haha

thanks, i seem to tend towards more progressive-style tracks. but i would also like to work on song structuring.

dude thank you so much! i do really try to mix things up all the time so it doesn't get stale, but i also wanna make things catchy sometimes. the M8 has been so good for sample flipping and stuff, still amazed by this device every time i play with it.

thank you! appreciate you calling it a journey.

Damn, I love that intro. Gives me strong FF8 vibes. And then it starts getting intense and super technical sounding in amazing ways. I like the watery sound effects around 3 minutes in during the chill rhythmic jam. Almost starts transforming into a polyphia song at 4 minutes. The way the intensity gradually ramps up towards the end is excellent too. Definitely a journey.

Just listened to your last two tracks and the first one again, so good, reminds me of the jazzy tones of Mr. Scruff, playfulness of Minotaur Shock and expert chopping/slicing of Akufen

I only ever got to play the demo version of FF8, definitely would like to play the whole game at some point. Currently very slowly working my way thru Star Ocean the Second Story R. I gotta check out Polyphia too, thanks for the rec. Appreciate all your input. smile

This is so dope

strong tune! great vocal choppage and sound design, impressive mix clarity

This is fascinating. And Link is here for some reason, too.
