This is a jam I made on the Elektron Digitakt and Digitone, using the new song mode released this week. I mirrored the song structure on both devices, and used the pattern mutes to bring elements in and out from 2 patterns. I found it amazing, as it freed up my mind to play with interacting with the sounds while jamming, rather than trying to juggle what needs to come in when. Recorded a about a dozen jams into Reason, picked my favourite, and added some mastering there.

The song started with the kick drum beat and then I added melodic ideas over the top, then just let the song unfold itself. Halfway through working on the song, I watched a movie called Wood and Water, and felt somehow that the song reminded me of the to and fro of searching where home is, battling isolation, and accepting my place in life and where it's leading. At least that was my headspace while writing it..
